With large scale and often high-volume projects to manage, it is
critical to set in place the right control mechanisms to ensure
that projects are managed efficiently, making best use of usually
limited resources.
iem is experienced in managing large funded programmes of
energy efficiency measures, bringing together the requirements of
each stakeholder to ensure smooth running of the programmes throughout.
At iem we are also experienced in the implementation of databases
for storage of high volume data, including survey results, energy
efficiency data etc. iem is able to offer consultancy services
ranging from an initial evaluation of client requirements through
to complete project management of procurement and implementation
of a full database.
We manage all projects using the PRINCE2 project management
methodology. PRINCE2 is an internationally accredited project
management methodology used more and more frequently to manage very
large scale projects in both industry and the public sector.
The approach works by giving clearly defined roles and responsibilities
to everyone involved in the project. The methodology then defines
project stages following delivery of which, the project is reviewed
against the strategic/ business objectives to ensure it is still
on track.
Another key element of the approach is the concept of managing by
exception. This approach of concentrating energies on tasks that
are not going to plan (and not wasting time on completed work) leads
to short and effective management information, lower impact on project
staff as well as more effective delivery.
Intelligent Energy Management is an accredited PRINCE2 practitioner.
